Aluminum alloys can be treated with heat treatment for good mechanical properties, physical properties and corrosion resistance.It can be improved by heat treatment methods such as quenching and aging. It can be divided into hard aluminum, wrought aluminum, super hard aluminum and special aluminum alloy.
Heat treatment technology of 6061 aluminum alloy:
- 1) rapid annealing temperature of 350 ~ 410 ℃;With the difference of effective thickness of the material, the thermal insulation time is between 30 and 120 min.Air or water is cold.
- 2) high temperature annealing, heating temperature of 350 ~ 500 ℃.When the finished product thickness is greater than 6mm, the thermal insulation time is 10 ~ 30min and
- 3) low temperature annealing, heating temperature of 150 ~ 250 ℃;The thermal insulation time is 2 ~ 3h;Air or water is cold.
Silicon has a corrosive effect on hard alloys.Although more than 12% of Si's aluminum alloy is known as high silicon aluminum alloy, it is recommended to use diamond cutting tools, but this is not absolute, and the increasing of silicon content gradually increases the destructive power of the cutter.Therefore, some manufacturers recommend diamond cutting tools when they have more than 8% silicon content.The 6061 aluminum alloy is a transition interval between 8% and 12%.
